How to Keep Your Handmade Treasures Looking Claymazing

Let’s be real — these aren’t your average accessories. Every pair of earrings, trinket tray, or pendant from Clay’d and Confused is made by hand, with love, chaos, and just a pinch of weird magic. So it’s only fair they get the VIP treatment, right?

Whether your piece is resin-coated or raw clay, here’s how to give it a long and happy life — no drama, just clay-ful vibes.

🧼 No Suds, No Drama

Clean gently with a soft cloth or a barely-damp cotton pad.
💡 Avoid harsh cleaners, soaking, or alcohol wipes — especially on resin! They can dull the shine or damage the surface.

☀️ Sun’s Out? Clay’s In!

Keep your pieces out of prolonged direct sunlight or heat (like windowsills, radiators, or that one hot car seat).
Clay can soften and resin can yellow over time if they’re sunbathing too hard.

🧳 Tangle-Free & Fancy

Store earrings flat or hanging, away from sharp objects or overly curious pets.
Trinket trays? Perfect for rings, keys, and treasures — just not too heavy or sharp (they’re strong but not indestructible!).

💧 Water? We Hardly Know Her

While a splash won’t ruin your day, it’s best to keep your pieces dry.
Don’t wear clay earrings in the shower, pool, or while wrangling the garden hose.

🐾 🐾 Tip from the Beagle Bums

“Don’t store your earrings near snacks… unless you want one of us to accessorise and eat them.”
Always a risk when your studio assistants are hungry hounds.

🧠 Clay-Savvy? Let’s See!

Fact or Fiction?

  1. You can clean resin-coated earrings with nail polish remover.

  2. All clay jewellery is waterproof.

  3. Clay earrings are mass-produced.
