Hi! I’m Denise — chaotic creator, full-time clay enthusiast, and part-time beagle wrangler (usually of two, occasionally behaving).

 

Clay’d and Confused is my latest creative adventure, but not the first. Before the blobs and beads took over, I ran HarveysHouse and HarveysToyshed — tiny worlds of fabric dolls, handmade miniatures, and all things whimsical. Life (and the need for a job that paid regularly!) meant I had to step away for a while — but the itch to create never left.

Why the name?

Honestly? Because clay gets confused for everything. Plastic, porcelain, even sweets (yes, really — no nibbling, please). And my craft table? It’s in a constant state of creative confusion. The name fit. A little wonky, a little bold, and entirely handmade chaos.

The beagles — Ron and Harry — have been part of the journey from the start. They supervise (badly), snore through most of my work, and occasionally try to steal bubble wrap. If you’ve ever spotted a cartoon beagle bum on my packaging, now you know why.

Lately, I’ve added a new obsession: beads. The Beading Marvellous collection is where tiny seed beads meet tangled thread, bold colours, and clay accents. It’s detailed, time-consuming, and completely addictive. Naturally, I’m hooked.
